Our basic Crossfit palm protector has been a huge hit, and we thank you. But we knew from the beginning we didn't have a product which would work for those of you with larger sized hands. So we figured if we had to tool up for a larger size, why not try and improve it as well. The new EquipX-Fit Palm Protector is finally here! It's not just larger, it's also wider, giving you much more protection to the surface of the hand. Having the larger surface also allows you lots of room to trim it down and customize it just for your needs. Available in 12 colors of Velcro closures!

    I was really excited when I ordered the palm protector because I always have issues with blisters on my palms underneath my fingers. Unfortunately the first time I used them I ended up blistering the middle of my palms to the point that they bled. I've been doing crossfit for about a year and have ripped my hands pretty badly but never to the point of them bleeding. They not only ripped the middle of my palm open but I also suffered the same issue underneath my ring finger on both hands, although they weren't bad enough to bleed. I was disappointed because of the great reviews these palm protectors had. I've tried using them since my hands have healed and after the first few pull ups I can feel them starting to wear down the middle of my palms again and I end up taking them off. Someone suggested chalking them which I tried as well but I'm still suffering the same problem. Also, I bought these to avoid using so much chalk. I tried working out with them wet to break them in because I thought maybe that was the issue but still I have the same problem. Had I ripped the middle of my palms before even a little bit I wouldn't have totally blamed it on the protectors but the fact that I literally never have had that problem before makes me 100% confident that they were the cause.

    Part of the issue may be because they are relatively thick compared to other palm protectors I've seen and my grip could have been a little different on the bar because I wasn't used to it. Regardless, I suggest if you know someone that uses them to try them out before you buy them because they're not right for everyone. I've gone back to looping medicine tape over my middle finger down my palm and that has given me the best protection so far.


    Thanks for the feedback Joanna. It's interesting because we have sold hundreds of these and no one has reported this problem.

    It brings up an interesting point though. Recently one of our local customers came in with some double finger rip protectors he had bought from us. He had been using them, taping at the wrist as many people do. He asked if we could sew on some Velcro straps so he could stop using tape, which we did. I asked him why he didn't just use the palm protectors we made for Crossfit. His reply was he felt they were too thick, the rip protectors are a much thinner leather.

    As a result of this conversation, we will soon be making a version of the rip protector with wrist strap closures. In the mean time, you may want to try a set of them as they are now, without straps. You can tape them, or slide them under wristbands. They are very inexpensive as they are sold now. If the thinner leather works for you, then the strap version might be a good one for you.

    On a side note, he left the finger holes in the rip protectors small so they wouldn't slide down past his bottom knuckle, providing protection for the area around the base of his middle two fingers.

    I have been using them for ring pull-ups and bar pull-ups and haven't had callous rip. They were stiff to start but I suppose that is the balance between initial comfort and long tern durability. I ordered the next size up to have wrist movement for the push-up in Burpee pull-ups and have no complaints.

    The palm protectors perform wonderfully during workouts. They are thick enough to protect the hands but not too thick that it hinders dexterity. The fingers holes are snug, but it's nothing some sand paper cannot resolve.

    Took a little while like it states in the directions, that you must trim up the finger holes to properly fit. These help so much from tearing up my blisters on my hands when I do bar crossfit movements. They have had a lot of attention and hype from others. I think will become one of the preferred investments for future crossfitters.

    These are great but I wish I would have gotten a size bigger. I cannot bend my wrists backwards to do Burpees with these on!

    Got my gloves a couple of weeks ago, and have used them a half dozen times or so (hey I've been busy!). They're awesome for preventing callouses, but I also feel like it's hard to keep a good grip on the bar now. Maybe that's just because they're not broken in yet, and will improve over time. I hope so! I need to trim the holes a little wider (as suggested, no surprise there), and also have to trim them down between my ring and pinky fingers, as it causes some chafing on the inside of my pinky. I'm very happy with the gloves though, and will continue using them for any pull-up or kb intensive work-out!

    After just a few uses, the soft leather forms to your hand providing wonderful protection from blisters and open cuts. The new larger adult version works even better than the original, child-sized version. Thank you for making pull ups so much easier!!
